Tomoe Miyazaki and Yukiko Yamasaki from Japan, Luo Rong Rong from China, Gosia Machon, Birgit Weyhe and me from Hamburg are having an exhibition in the Goethe institut in Hamburg from 9th of october until 14th of november. The three asian artists visited Hamburg for two weeks with a scholarship of the Lichtwarkgesellschaft. They attended a workshop under the direction of Anke Feuchtenberger where they created a lot of beautiful Hamburg - inspired drawings. In november 2007, Gosia Machon and me were, then students of Anke Feuchtenberger, invited to Kyoto, Japan, with her to create Kyoto - inspired drawings. The originals stayed in the IMM (International Manga Museum) in Kyoto, but you can see copies of those drawings in the exhibiton in the Goetheinstitut. Birgit Weyhes work is a comic story which takes place in Hamburg. So, the exhibition includes some different points of view on Kyoto and Hamburg.

Drawing for the french comic newspaper “modern spleen”.
My friend, the artist Verena Issel, had the idea to create a profitable piece of Art, a male pin up calendar. The photographer Kathrin Brunnhofer took the pictures, I made the layout, and we printed 200 sexy Art Boy calendars, which where practically immediately sold out. Luckily, the Textem Verlag published it and reprinted 1000 exemplars. So now, almost anybody who wants Art Boy 2010, can have it!
Until now, the ART Magazni online and print, Zeit Campus, Spiegel online and the MOPO wrote about the calendar. http://www.art-magazin.de/szene/23590/art_boy_2010 http://www.spiegel.de/unispiegel/wunderbar/0,1518,658324,00.html
